Excessive Sweating Treatment
Neuromodulators are used to treat excessive sweating by blocking the nerve signals responsible for sweating. Treatment has been shown to decrease underarm sweating by 80-90 percent. Treatment typically lasts 9-12 months, sometimes longer. 50 units each underarm is typically administered for optimal results.
TMJ, Clenching/Grinding Treatment
Neuromodulators help relieve TMJ symptoms and jaw tension for many patients. The injections often eliminate headaches resulting from teeth grinding and clenching and can even minimize lockjaw. It can also help aesthetically with jaw slimming.
Treatment benefits typically last 6-12 months, sometimes longer. Typical dosing is 25-45 units each side.
How Often Should You Get Botox? Timeline to Maintain Botox Results
Botox results start to show within a few days and peak at about 2-3 weeks. Over time, you will slowly get movement and fine lines back. Results last typically 3-4 months. Each patient's treatment is very individualized, and recommended dosing varies. Men typically require higher doses, and those who exercise may metabolize neuromodulators more quickly. Some patients can notice results even longer than 4 months.

Before Your Botox Appointment
Avoid herbal supplements such as Ginko, green tea, ibuprofen, vitamin E, fish oil, turmeric, alcohol and anti-inflammatories of any kind for 2 weeks before neuromodulator treatment to limit bruising.
Post-Care Instructions for Botox, Dysport, Xeomin & Daxxify
For the first 5-6 hours following Botox, Dysport, Xeomin or Daxxify remain upright, don’t lay flat.
Avoid vigorous exercise, excessive sweating, or straining for the first 24 hours after treatment. Tt takes approximately up to 24 hours for the neuromodulator to bind to the nerve and you do not want to increase circulation during that time.
Do not rub, touch, or manipulate treatment area for 6 hours. Avoid irritating products for 24 hours following treatment.
Avoid vigorous facials, lasers, waxing, chemical peels, and microblading/tattooing to areas injection for 2 weeks.
Make-up may be applied gently before leaving the office, remember to wipe up and away from your eyes or brows. Gently cleanse or pat.
Bruising in the area injected is normal and often expected, especially if treated around the eyes. Bruising can last up to several weeks. Using/taking arnica may help diminish bruising.
It may take up to 2-3 weeks for results to take full effect.
A follow-up visit at 14 days to 3 weeks is suggested to assess results for subsequent treatments, particularly if you are a first-time client. If full correction is not achieved, you will need to purchase additional units for injection.
Re-treatment is typically needed between 3-4 months. Regular injections usually yield a longer lasting results.
If your upper lip was treated you will not be able to drink through a straw, whistle, or enunciate some words for approximately 2 weeks.
Although rare, infection in the injected area is possible. Signs of infection may include redness and tenderness in the infected area and fever. Should you develop an infection, antibiotics may be necessary. Please contact us should you have any concerns.

Mild redness and swelling can happen immediately post injection and usually resolve within minutes to an hour. Mild bruising can sometimes occur, its best to avoid any blood thinning products 24-48 hours before your appointment.
